The Yinlong 66160H is a genuine LTO cell with a nominal capacity of 40Ah at 2.3V, giving 92Wh of energy per cell.
LTO (lithium titanate oxide) cells use a titanate anode instead of graphite. They accept very high charge and discharge currents, work at low temperatures and last from 10,000 to more than 25,000 cycles. Nominal voltage is about 2.3–2.4V per cell, so a 12V pack needs 5 or 6 cells in series. Energy density is lower than LiFePO4, but no other chemistry lasts as long.
Cylindrical cells have a steel can and are named after their size: the first two digits give the diameter and the following digits the length in millimetres (for example, 18650 = 18mm × 65mm). They are robust and consistent, and well suited to packs built with spot-welded nickel strip or cell holders.
Car and truck starter batteries, high-power and fast-charging applications, grid frequency regulation, cold climates, buses and industrial vehicles, systems designed to last for decades.
