Overview

The BYD C15FHE is a genuine LiFePO4 cell with a nominal capacity of 320Ah at 3.2V, giving 1,024Wh of energy per cell.

About this chemistry

LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate, LFP) is the most widely used chemistry for stationary storage and deep-cycle batteries. It is thermally very stable, contains no cobalt or nickel and typically lasts thousands of cycles. Each cell has a nominal voltage of 3.2V: four cells in series make a 12.8V battery, eight make 25.6V and sixteen make the 51.2V used by most home storage inverters.

About this format

Prismatic cells have a rigid rectangular aluminium case with threaded or flat terminals. They are easy to stack into compact packs with busbars and are the standard format for large-capacity cells. Large prismatic LiFePO4 cells should be mounted under light compression, as specified by the manufacturer.

Home and commercial energy storage, off-grid solar systems, campervans and motorhomes, boats, golf carts and light electric vehicles, telecom backup, DIY battery packs.
